GAME SUMMARY

Our dual meet against the Raiders from Kiel was an AWESOME meet!  They are a fun team to swim against, because they are a smaller school and their team is comparable in size to us.  The evening began with the ‘A’ 200 medley team: Norman, Hadacek, Biskobing, and Miller finishing an awesome second place with their time, 2:00.38.  Biskobing (2:07.53) finished second place, Huegerich (2:17.85) finished fourth place and J. Huebner (2:20.19 – his personal best time by 4 seconds!) all swam the 200 freestyle for their team swimming great races!  Miller (2:17.59 his personal best time!) finished an awesome first place, Sharbuno (2:31.37) right behind to finish third place and Hadacek (2:38.65) also swam a great race; all swimming the 200 IM!  In the 50 freestyle: M. Huebner (25.33), Norman (26.71) and Seitz (27.78 – his personal best time by 2 seconds!) all swam awesome races!  M. Huebner finished an awesome first place, Norman finished fourth place and Seitz finished sixth.  Our divers also had a great meet!  Schmidt (167.60) finished first, Kasdorf (163.65) finished second and Theis (160.65) finished third all scoring points for their team! Biskobing (1:00.49), Huegerich (1:08.27) and Tumey (1:17.46 – his personal best time by 2 seconds!) all swam great races in the 100 butterfly!  Biskobing finished second place, Huegerich (this was his first time swimming the 100 butterfly) finished fourth place and Tumey finished sixth place.  M. Huebner (56.28 – his personal best time by 1 second!) finished an awesome second place, Seitz (1:04.67) finished fourth place and M. Roller (1:04.84 – his personal best time by 2 seconds!) finished sixth place, all swimming a great race in the 100 freestyle!  In the 500 freestyle, Miller (5:34.24) came away with an awesome win, followed by Sharbuno (5:47.54 – his personal best time by 1 second!) finishing third place and Meier (6:21.89) finishing fourth place; great race guys!  In the 200 freestyle relay, the ‘A’ team: Biskobing, M. Huebner, Norman and Miller had a great second place finish with their time, 1:41.05!  The ‘B’ team: Huegerich, M. Roller, Seitz and Sharbuno also had a great race finishing third place with their time, 1:51.82.  In the 100 backstroke, Norman (1:11.33), Tumey (1:12.24) and J. Huebner (1:19.92 – his personal best time by 4 seconds!) finished an outstanding 2-3-4!  Norman was second, Tumey was third place and J. Huebner was fourth place, great race guys!  Up next was the 100 breaststroke, Orvis (1:20.48 – his personal best time by 1 second!) had an awesome second place finish, Hadacek (1:22.11 – his personal best time!) finished fourth and Meier (1:31.08) finished sixth place.  Going into our last event, the 400 freestyle relay, all we needed was to earn a second place and keep our 7 point lead.  The relay teams of ‘A’ Seitz, Hadacek, Meier and Sharbuno and ‘B J. Huebner, Orvis, G. Patterson and M. Roller both entered the water and at the start of the race were both behind the Kiel times by almost a half a pool length.  If Kiel wins first and second they win the meet…so we are all cheering like crazy and hoping for some great swims!  Meier enters the water for the ‘A’ relay and he is able to make up time and distance on the Kiel teams.  Next up for the ‘A’ relay is Sharbuno; he gets in, pulls ahead of the second place team to take a second place finish in the relay and we won the meet!!!!!  How overly exciting to have the meet come down to the last event, and have the relay team come from behind to earn second place!  The ‘A’ relay’s time was 4:11.40 finishing the meet winning second place and the ‘B’ relay’s time was 4:33.33 finishing fourth place.  Such an awesome meet to be a part of!!!  The hard work these guys are putting in during practice is definitely reflected by their awesome performances in the meets!  Congrats on another win guys!!!  Onto Grafton tomorrow!
