GAME SUMMARY

The Varsity Conference was held at our house this year, and it was nice to have “home field advantage!”  It began on Thursday evening with the diving competition.  Kasdorf (393.80 –personal best score for him!) had an awesome second place finish, C. Theis (381.80 – personal best score for him!) finished an awesome third place, Schmidt (354.00 – personal best score for him!) had a great fifth place finish and Friede (313.85 – personal best score for him!) finished eleventh place.  It was an awesome way to begin the meet, with our divers doing so well!  The 200 medley ‘A’ team: Miller, Orvis, Biskobing, and M. Huebner began the swimming competition with an awesome tenth place finish with their time 1:53.78.  The 200 medley ‘B’ team: Norman, Hadacek, Huegerich and W. Roller had a great fourteenth place finish with their best time, 2:02.18!  Biskobing (2:02.29) had a nice tenth place finish in the 200 freestyle earning some points for his team!  Sharbuno (2:05.47) also added some points to his team’s score with his twelfth place finish in the 200 freestyle.  Norman (2:26.19 – a personal best time for him!) finished thirteenth in the 200 IM adding points to our team score!  In the 50 freestyle, M. Huebner (25.11) also added a few points for his team!  Biskobing (59.09) earned himself a spot on the awards podium with his awesome fifth place finish in the 100 butterfly!  Miller (53.40) had an award podium swim in the 100 freestyle.  He earned himself a seventh place!  W. Roller (56.31 – a personal best time for him!) snuck in there to achieve a sixteenth place in the 100 freestyle adding more points to our score!   Sharbuno (5:43.80 – a personal best time for him!) and Meier (6:05.04 – a personal best time for him!) both had great swims in the 500 freestyle!  Sharbuno finished ninth and Meier finished fifteenth!  Our ‘A’ 200 freestyle relay team: Biskobing, M. Huebner, Sharbuno, and Miller earned themselves an eighth place on the awards podium with their awesome race, 1:40.29!  The ‘B’ 200 free relay team: W. Roller, Norman, Huegerich and Tumey had a great eleventh place finish with their best time 1:43.34!  Miller (59.00) just missed earning a medal for his awesome swim in the 100 backstroke; he finished fourth place, Tumey (1:09.54) had a great fifteenth place with W. Roller (1:10.04 – a personal best time for him!) finished sixteenth all adding points to our total in the 100 backstroke.  The ‘A’ 400 freestyle relay team: Sharbuno, M. Roller, J. Huebner and Tumey had a great twelfth place finish with their time, 3:59.61.  The ‘B relay team: Seitz, Hadacek, Meier, and Orvis had a great fifteenth place with their time, 4:14.42.  It really was an awesome meet with many great times and awesome swims!  Our Sectional guys will head to Cedarburg on Saturday to hopefully get some guys onto Madison for State!
