Our Sectionals meet was held at Cedarburg high school this year; which was a first for us. Our divers began the meet for us on Friday evening; Theis (368.25) came away with an awesome third place finish, Kasdorf (341.00) was right behind finishing sixth place, Friede (338.40) was right behind Kasdorf finishing seventh place and Schmidt (331.05) right behind them both finishing ninth place. All four guys achieved their best 11 dive scores and qualified for the State diving competition!!!
The swimming portion began with the 200 medley relay team: Miller, Orvis, Biskobing and M. Huebner swimming an outstanding race, finishing sixth place with their best time, 1:49.51! Up next was Biskobing (2:02.71) and Sharbuno (2:04.06 – his personal best time by 1 second!) swimming the 200 freestyle. They both swam great races, Biskobing finishing ninth place and Sharbuno finished eleventh place! Norman (2:25.60 – his personal best time by 1 second!) was our only entry in the 200 IM and he came through for his team; he finished tenth place! M. Huebner (24.34– his personal best time!) and W. Roller (25.08) chose to swim the 50 freestyle, they too swam great races; M. Huebner finished twelfth place, and W. Roller finished sixteenth place. Biskobing (55.60 – his personal best time by 2 seconds!), who has been prepping for this moment all season, swam an awesome race in the 100 butterfly. He finished an award podium third place! And also earned his ticket to Madison for the State meet with that amazing swim! Tumey (1:13.11 – his personal best time by 2 seconds!) also swam the 100 butterfly for his team. He finished fourteenth place! Miller (49.48 – his personal best time by 2 seconds!) was up next to swim his first individual of the day, the 100 freestyle. He and W. Roller (55.18 11 – his personal best time by 1 second!) both swam this event and had great races. Miller finished an award podium second place, breaking this school record in the 100 freestyle and earning his spot at the State meet with this amazing swim! W. Roller was able to score points for his team finishing twelfth place. The 500 freestyle event was up next and Sharbuno (5:37.39 11 – his personal best time by 6 seconds!) swam a great race and finished tenth place. Our 200 freestyle relay team: Biskobing, M. Huebner, Sharbuno and Miller have been working hard and today wasn’t any different! They swam an awesome race earning a spot on the awards podium for their great eighth place finish and best time, 1:36.40! Miller (55.55 – his personal best time by 3 seconds!), worked really hard this season, was up next for the 100 backstroke, his event. He swam an outstanding race, earning his spot on the awards podium with his awesome second place finish! He also earned a spot on the State team for that awesome swim and broke his own school record! Norman (1:06.16 – his personal best time by 2 seconds!) and Tumey (1:08.79) also chose to swim the 100 backstroke, the event they continued to improve on all season! Norman finished an awesome tenth place and Tumey right behind to finish twelfth place! Orvis (1:13.87 – his personal best time by 3 seconds!) was up next for his strongest stroke, the 100 breaststroke. He swam an awesome race, finishing twelfth place. The last event of the day, the 400 freestyle relay was swum by: Norman, W. Roller, Tumey and Sharbuno. They had an awesome race, finishing eighth place, earning their spot on the awards podium. It was such an awesome meet! The guys have been training all season for this meet, and the determination and hard work they have put forth really came through today! We finished fourth as a team, have four divers and two swimmers heading to Madison for the State Competition!
