Meet Highlights: Another great invite on back-to-back weekends!  We didn’t see as many PR’s at this meet, but we have been very spoiled in recent weeks with so many PR’s.  Every season has some peaks and valleys.  We had 11 individual time drops and set a PR in the 400 Free Relay.  We scored the most points in the 100 Fly with Freshman Josie Tetzlaff earning a 3rd place medal.  Our top scorers were Freshman Abbey Lotz (28 points), Freshman Josie Tetzlaff (22 points) and Sophomore Kamryn Lapacek (15 points) with all three girls placing in both individual events.  Nice job, girls!

Individual Highlights: The meet began with an 10th place finish in the 200 Medley race with Freshman Josie Tetzlaff, Sophomore Caroline Hadacek, Junior Erin Grisar and Freshman Emma Huber (2:18.53) earning 14 points for the team.  In the 200 Free, Freshman Abbey Lotz dropped 6 seconds to finish in 6th place (2:14.92 PR) followed by Sophomore Kamryn Lapacek (9th place 2:17.38), Hadacek (14th place 2:23.99), and Freshman Audyn Setzer (19th place 2:32.42).  We had solid performances in the 200 IM.  Tetzlaff finished 11th (2:39.17) earning 6 points for the team.  Junior Sydney Hannert also contributed to the team score by coming in 16th (2:48.98) backed up by her teammates Sophomore Leah Sheriff (3:03.84) and Sophomore Taylor Peiffer (2:52.00).  Huber led the way for the Pirates in the 50 Free (12th place 29.13).  Her teammates also finished strong: Junior Sarah Howell 18th (31.27), Sophomore Shannon McConahy 21st (31.27) and Junior Reese Crandall 25th (33.36).  We put big points on the board in the 100 Fly (35 of our 165 points).  Teammates Tetzlaff and Lotz swam next to each other pushing each other to significant PR’s for both.  Tetzlaff finished 3rd (1:08.39 PR) and Lotz finished 4th (1:08.63 PR).  Hannert finished 12th (1:16.92) earning another 5 points for the team and Grisar finished 18th (1:18.46).  Lapacek earned 6 points for the team with her 11th place finish in the 100 Free (1:02.93) and Huber earned 1 point (16th place 1:06.22).  Freshman Maddi Klein finished 18th (1:09.30) and Junior Olivia Heinecke finished 24th with a huge PR dropping 6 seconds (1:15.26).  We had 2 girls score points in the 500 Free.  Setzer finished 12th (6:41.67) contributing 5 points to the team score.  Grisar placed 16th (6:47.69 PR), Howell placed 17th (6:51.85) and Sheriff placed 19th (6:59.84).  The 200 Free Relay team of Huber, Tetzlaff, Lotz and Lapacek had a great race earning 8th place and 22 points for the team (1:56.20).  Our 2nd 200 Free Relay team of Klein, Sophomore Maria Wichmann, Sophomore Emmalee Schmutzler, and Sheriff finished 14th earning 6 points for the team (2:12.14).  Nice job, girls!  In the 100 Back, Peiffer finished 16th (1:19.36), Sophomore Nolari Hingiss 19th (1:22.38 PR), McConahy 21st (1:22.53) and Klein 23rd (1:24.66).  Senior Allison Schmutzler led our team in the 100 Breaststroke finishing 20th with a time of 1:32.61 and Hadacek finished 21st (1:33.44).  E. Schmutzler dropped some time in this event coming in 23rd (1:36.81 PR) followed by Junior Julia Burke finishing 26th (1:41.47).  We had both of our 400 Free Relay teams score points for the team (36 total).  The 400 Free Relay team of Lotz, Grisar, Setzer and Lapacek finished 7th and scored 24 points.  Our 2nd 400 Free Relay team of Hadacek, Sheriff, Hannert and Peiffer finished 11th (4:49.96) with great swims by all the girls earning 12 points for the team!  This week the girls will work on developing their competitive mindset so they can keep chiseling away at their times and earn more PR’s this week.  Keep up the good work, girls!
